so long, farewell Friday, March 14, 2008 |

bye bye blogger. I still prefer this layout to the rather basic one put forth by wordpress, but what can you do? here is the new link....

I think I may change, once again, the addess of this blog. This isn't anything new for the few people who I know follow this blog once and awhile, and usually this sort of change corresponds to a teen-girl depression or something pathetic like that. I guess the entries of my friend have convinced me that Google is now the bane of the internet for all of its successes, and as a consequence, Blogger follows suit. This change of course is a reflection of a long time admiration of open source software and the movement as a whole. I made a wordpress account a million years back, so I figure that I'll move there in the near future, more details forthcoming. I really hate to leave, given the fact that I really like this blog layout despite myself.

Life in Chile has slown down a lot partially because I have nothing to do but wait until the school semester starts. Sadly, my travels in Perú were cut short since my host sibilings were obligated to return to Chile, and although being in Chile was a lot more relaxing than travelling in Peru, Chile just doesn't have that Peruvian Andean allure. I will try to post pictures. I have been really bad about that. (a)

I am a little frustrated as well, given that I haven't been able to touch a guitar in months. So yet again I fall to the basic asshole wanna be level. Sigh.

(a) Thinking about it, I have been really bad about communicating with those back home. I mean to change that, but probably by way of letters instead of email. I find that travellers who post a ton of pictures of their travels are just egotistical and vain, but I feel like I should at least post something.

update Sunday, February 3, 2008 |

1. I got that haircut.

2. I was trapped by two landslides on my way back from Machu Picchu. It was a cold, rainy night.

3. A drunk-ass hostal owner tried to sell me his killer chicken for 200 dollars. Pot as well.

4. Guinea pig doesn't taste that great, but alpaca does.

I am bored and waiting to get out of Cuzco. Perú is a pretty crazy country, but I like it here. I wish I had the motivation to write something provocative or at least interesting, but this keyboard sucks, my stomach has the Peruvian version of Monteczuma's revenge, and I am disposed to kill for a chili dog.

This time is worse. A man confused me for a woman this time. Circumstances:

1. The guy was wasted.
2. It was night on a beach
3. I was not facing the guy because I was trying to sleep.

Result: In Chile, you say goodbye to women (men-women, women-women) with a kiss on the cheek. I was lying down on the sand trying to ignore their drunken babbling. They decided to leave, started to say goodbye, and since all of us were sitting down or lying down, he started to lean over to give the girls a kiss on the cheek. I was obviously considered as one of those girls.

Response:
Hey asshole, I am a guy. (Oye weon! Soy hombre!).

i carry the sun in a golden cup... Thursday, January 3, 2008 |

Meet Carla Bruni. There is a promo music video here as well. Who is she? I believe she is a French/Italian ex-supermodel turned folk singer. Moreover, Nicolas Sarkozy, the illustriously hated French president, somehow is managing to date Bruni as well.

Bruni has led me to make more new year's resolutions. 1) To be the President of France 2) To speak French.

...and the moon in a silver bag.*

*Sure sounds cheesy, but you should watch who sings those lines. I think when you are that attractive, it doesn't matter what you say, people hang on every word you say. I guess it is all the ethical appeal. If you seem cool, people think that what you say is cool as well.
